Camden, Nov. 14.---Ellen, widow of John R. Carleton, died at her home on Mexico street, three miles west of this village at 1 o'clock Monday morning. Her death was not unexpected as she had been in poor health for several months. She was the daughter of Charles and Ellen Dorrity and was born in Kingston, Canada, July 12, 1844. She was married to Mr. Carleton on April 8, 1860. She was the mother of 13 children, nine of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Addle Bently Freeman, Mrs. George Whaley, Mrs. Eugene Helmer, Mrs. Tracy Yorton, Mrs. Adolph Hiltbrand, Mrs. Merritt Babcock, Miss Flora E. Carlton, James C. and Alonzo D. Carleton, all of Camden. She was. a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Camden. She was a faithful and devoted mother and was attached to her home and family and was respected by all who knew her.
