US Army Major General. A career Army officer, he grauated from West Point, served in the Spanish-American War, Phillippine Insurrection, Mexican Expedition and World War I. He is best noted for being the Commanding General of the Army 35th Division that was sent to France, during World War II and being the cousin President Harry S. Truman.

I found the grandparents and mother of Ralph E.Truman (plus his 2 siblings) in the "Old Parkville Cemetery" Parkville, Platte County, Missouri. They include; Grandfather James Strang (b.3-16-1811, d.6-26,1858), married (on 18 March 1845) to Grandmother Minerva (Gregg) Strang (b. nov13,1825, d.nov 14, 1912), their daughter and Ralph Trumans mother; Henrietta Strang Truman (Jun 3, 1852, d.apr 22, 1881) his siblings; Grace Summers Truman (Dallas Tx) and Earl Truman (1874-nov 1899) Its located right on the main road leading to old town parkville. Note: On ancestry dot com, his last name is Strong not Strang.
