BIO-

Maria Theoline, 4th child born to Theodore & Olina Johnson Dahlseide, lost her mother a little over age 4 years.

Due to her father having to farm, she was sent to live with the Knute J.C. Monson family - listed on the ND 1900 census as "Foster Daughter".

Her father remarried about 1897, and moved to Canada around 1908.

On September 28th, 1908, Maria wed (1) Sevren E. Loken in Minnewaukon, Benson Co, ND, Nine children were born: Gladys, Mildred, Howard, Myrtle, Esther, Grace, Eileen, Larry & Gloria.

Due to Maria's husband being a "jack-of-all-trades", the family never settled in any one place, and Maria herself cooked on many ranches or cleaned at hotels to keep the family clothed and fed.

Maria and Sevren divorced in the mid 1930's, and she wed: (2) Malcolm Campbell MacKenzie on June 24, 1941 in Butte, MT.

They lived in MT for some years, then located in Canada. Malcolm died in 1964, and Maria moved back to the states, where she traveled and stayed with her children in different states.

In 1984, at the age of 92 years, staying with her daughter Eileen, Maria passed away in Edmonds, WA.

*This is my grandmother on my maternal side. Wonderful memories... "Apple Pie" - good visits... and loved listening to her speak.

Tombstone shows her buried with Ronald Nance, and that is her grandson.
