Myrtle Viola "Betty" Bonk enjoyed reading, television, animals, and being with her family and friends.

Mrs. Bonk, 71, died Jan 2, in the Valley Health Care Center of cancer.

She was born in Minneapolis, MN., a daughter of Sevren E. and Mary Dahlseide Loken.

She received her education in MN and worked at various jobs before her marriage to Robert H. Bonk on July 16, 1941 in Columbus, MT. They resided in FL during the war, then to Helena, MT before moving to Billings, MT in 1946.

They remained in Billings until 1983 and then moved to Wenatchee, WA. He died on Nov. 28, 1986, and she moved back to Billings in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mickey (Janice) Ivanovitch of Billings; four sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Grace) McCormick of Billings; Mrs. Richard (Esther) Behrendt of Montrose, CO; Mrs. Tom (Eileen) O'Brien of Edmonds, WA; a brother, Larry Loken of Wenatchee, WA, and five grandchildren.

Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of cremation. No services are planned. Burial of remains will be at a later date.
