Howard, as he was called, was the son of Sevren and Maria Dahlseide Loken. He was born in Shellbrook, SK, Canada on 21 July 1914.

He married Alice Crawford on June 9th, 1938, and to this union, 6 children were born.

Howard and family lived in MN, then moved to Colorado.

Howard was called 'Pappy' by many. Howard always seemed to have an up-beat, happy-go-lucky way about him... a wonderful singer, and loved his siblings and family.
