Dorothy Viola Raber, age 94, of Duncansville, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.
She was born September 12, 1928 at home in Cross Keys, a daughter of the late Percy and Grace (Orr) Closson.
She married George W. Raber on Oct. 5, 1948 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1978.
Surviving are 6 children: Richard Raber (Martha) of Duncansville, Debra Schlichte (Fred) of Florida, Beverly Lightner (Sheldon) of Duncansville, Karen Feltenberger (Donald) of Altoona, Diana Diehl (Dean) of Duncansville, and Donna Raber of Duncansville; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a brother George Closson of Hollidaysburg.
She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Dorothy attended Hollidaysburg High School. She previously worked at Butterick. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. Dorothy enjoyed playing BINGO.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 5-8pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Duncansville.
Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
