Carl C. Closson, 71,3168 N. Colebrook Road, Manheim, died Friday morning. Dec. 19.1997, at Lebanon VA Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Cross Keys, the son of the late Percy H. and Grace H. (Orr) Closson.

Mr. Closson was a lifelong railroad employee and retired as a clerk from Conrail in 1977. He was a Navy veteran and served as a coxswain in the Pacific and American theaters.

Mr. Closson was a member of the Lebanon Navy Club, the Duncansville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, the Germania Band Club, Manheim, and the Elstonvule Sportsman's Association.

He was a 1945 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.


Surviving are two daughters: Sandra A. Gibble, with whom he resided, and Vicky L. Webb of Manheim; six brothers: John of East Aurora, N.Y., Thomas of Farmington, Ark., Percy Jr. of Huntingdon, George of Altoona, Kenneth of Roaring Spring and Charles of Duncansville; two sisters: Edna Smith of Imler and Dorothy Raber of Duncansville;four grand children; two stepgrandchildren; three greatgrand-children; and six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen M. Berg and Violet Kimberlin.

Friends will be received from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim, and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville. Services will at 8 p.m. Monday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery
