Hickey, John E. 1900-1974

North Whitefield --- John E. Hickey, 74, died unexpectedly Monday.

He was born in North Whitefield, Sept. 19, 1900, the son of William J. and Margaret (McGrath) Hickey.

He retired in 1970 from the Department of Health and Welfare. He had been a night watchman at the Jefferson Camps for the past several years.

Mr. Hickey was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, North Whitefield.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Mooney) Hickey, North Whitefield; three brothers, William J. Hickey, Gardiner, Fred T. Hickey, North Whitefield, and Maurice Hickey of Cumberland Center; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Dennis Catholic Church.



HICKEY, John --- died Monday. Friends may call at the Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral prayers will be recited at 8 tonight at the funeral home. Members of St. Dennis Women's Club are requested to meet at the funeral home tonight at 7:45 to recite funeral prayers.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, North Whitefield, Maine.
