Hays -- Alexius "Lex" Walters, 62, Hays, died Friday, Jan. 30, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays. Mr. Walters was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Catherine.

He had worked for the Ellis County Highway Department. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays and the county workers union No. 513.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Hays; two sons, David and Richard, both of Hays; six brothers, Florence and Paul, both of Hays, Rudolph of Salina, Romald of Dodge City, Francis of Russell and Alfred of Catherine; four sisters, Adeline Dinkel and Dorothy Lange, both of Catherine, and Bertha Lange and Shirley Weigel, both of Hays.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. Carl Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Hays Memorial Chapel. There will be a parish wake service at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
