Helen Stecklein, 63, 405 E. 12th, died Friday, July 13 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She was born Feb. 25, 1916 at Catherine, the daughter of Justus P. and Bertha Staab Walters.

She married Joseph R. Stecklein Feb. 1, 1936 at Ellis. He died May 23, 1970. She was a member of the Altar Society and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Surviving two sons, Gerald, Dodge City, and Terry, Hays; four daughters, Mrs. Howard (Arlene) Rome, Mrs. Rodney (Carol) Einsel, Mrs. Harold (Kathy) Ostrum, all of Hays, and Mrs. Ken (Sharon) Sterling, Salina; seven brothers, Francis, Russell, Rudolph, Salina, Alfred, Catherine, Romuald, Dodge City, and Alexius, Florence and Paul, all of Hays; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Dinkel and Mrs. Dorothy Lange, both of Catherine, and Mrs. Bertha Lang, Victoria; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday, St. Joseph Church; St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 1-9 p.m. Monday at Brock's North Hill Chapel. Parish wake service is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at Brock's.
