She married Joseph P. Dinkel on June 11, 1940, in Catherine. He preceded her in death Sept. 30, 1999.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and Christian Mothers of the church.
Survivors include a son, Larry J. Dinkel and wife, Donna, Hays; two daughters, Gloria Sauer and husband, Tom, Catherine, and Stephanie Dechant and husband, Rick, Hays; two brothers, Francis Walters, Hays, and Alfred Walters, Catherine; three sisters, Bertha Lang and Shirley Weigel, both of Hays, and Dorothy Lang, Catherine; a son-in-law, Vernon Schmidt, Catherine; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Schmidt; a grandson, Troy Sauer; six [5 listed] brothers, Paul, Rudolph, Romuald, Rudolph, and Alexus Walters; and three sisters, Florence Walters, Amelia Cole and Helen Stecklein.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church; burial in St. Catherine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. A Christian Mothers rosary will be at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by a vigil at 6:30 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
