CYRIL CHASTY GWINN
Cyril Chasty Gwinn, better known as C.C. or Chat, was born to Andrew J. and Mary Gwinn, their third son, on March 21, 1879, in Wayne county, near Humeston, Iowa and passed away Nov. 7, 1955 at the Decatur county hospital at the age of 76 years, seven months and 16 days.
He was united in marriage to Lula Florence Benge Oct. 12, 1903. To this union one son and five daughters were born, Bessie Mundell of Leroy, Florence D'Atillio of Derby, Gladys Williams of Lucas, Myrtle Danner of Woodburn, Lester Gwinn of Humeston and Carmen Goben of Lucas.
His father, mother and three brothers preceded him in death.
He was converted at Spring Hill school house and was baptized by the Rev. S. M. Clark and attended church and Sunday school at Goshen for several years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and faithful wife, one son, five daughters, 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers, Arthur of Lucas, Everett of Kansas, Lloyd of Blue Earth, Minn., and a host of relatives and friends.
He was ready and willing to go and was kind and cheerful always to those who cared for him during his last illness. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He will be sadly missed by his loving companion and children and by all who knew him.
Funeral services, directed by the Stewart funeral home of Leon, were conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals at the Presbyterian church at Lucas Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Goshen cemetery.
