He was a Journeyman Iron Worker since 1945 adn was the Business Agent of Ironworkers Local #404, Harrisburg, for 30 years from 1957 until his retirement in 1987. He also held the office of President with the union also. He was a delegate to the York Building Trades and the Harrisburg Building Trades and was President of the Central Pa. Building Trades from 1971 to 1975. He was Vice President of the Pa. State Building Trades Council form 1977-1987 and was Vice-President of the Pa. State AFL-CIO from 1962-1989. He was a school director for Central Dauphin School Dist. from 1959-1965 and past member of the Historical Committee of Springetts Twp., Your County. He was a memberof Zeredatha Lodge #451, F&AM and Harrisburg Consistory and a llife membr of the 12th Ward Democratic Club. He also helped develop The Woodlands off of Mount Zion Rd. in York County.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sisters, Elizabeth Hamme of York, Stella Hamme of Shiloh, Gearldine Metzel of York, and Dolores Miller of Cumberland Md. He is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
