Mrs. Lavina Ashline, 73, of 169 Ivy Terrace died at 3:34 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Saranac Lake General Hospital where she was admitted Monday. Death followed a long illness. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by Msgr. Edmund H. Dumas at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Church, with the Rev. Garry Giroux as concelebrant. Interment was in. St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Richer Funeral Home. She was born in Tupper Lake on Nov. 25, 1910, the dauther of Bazil LaFave and Clementine Scanlon LaFave, and attended the local schools. On February 5, 1938 she was married here to Raymond Ashline of St. Alphonsus Church. Surviving, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Esther) Van Vranken; a grandson, Michael Van Vranken; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Daggett and Mrs. Edward (Theresa) Bombard, and a brother, Raymond LaFave, all of Tupper Lake.
