Eda Theobald Maxfield, age 86, passed away peacefully in Parowan on March 9, 2009.
Born March 14, 1922 in Hinckley to Carl and LaVern Croft Theobald.
Married Blair Maxfield on June 2, 1955 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eda was the third child of a large family of four girls and five boys. She was known as the peacemaker of the family. She loved family reunions and was very disappointed if she was unable to attend.
Accomplished beautician and practiced for 32 years, usually operating her own shop. She also worked for JC Penney Co, in Cedar City, for 15 years. Active member of LDS Church, serving in several callings - President of YWMIA, Homemaking Leader and Relief Society Counselor.
Those that brought her most joy were mission to West Australia with her husband. They had great deal of success and made many lifelong friends. And eight years she and her husband served as ordinance workers in the St. George LDS Temple.
She is survived by her husband: Blair; children: Russell C. Maxfield, Las Vegas, NV; LaDaun Mitchell, SLC, UT; Anita Rae (Jim) Mortenson, Layton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers: Paul and Merlin Theobald; sister: Grace Waldren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Cedar City Seventh Ward Chapel, 900 West 257 South. Friends call at the Church on Friday morning from 9-10:40 a.m.
Burial: Hinckley Utah City Cemetery
