Leon CarlTheobald 4/17/1920 ~ 5/21/2004 DELTA – Leon Carl Theobald, born April 17, 1920 to Carl George and LaVern Croft Theobald in Hinckley, Utah. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy 1941 to 1944. Married Roberta Law of Delta 1919. Divorced. Survived by three children, Lynford Leon Theobald, Dean Robert Theobald and Gloria Joan Crabtree, four grandchildren, three great-grand-children and siblings, Paul Theobald, Merlin Theobald, Grace Waldrum and Eda Maxfield. Leon passed peacefully to his next challenge May 21 at 11:30 p.m. after experiencing several years of declining health. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted Wed. May 26 at the Hinckley, UT cemetery.

Leon attended Brigham Young University and Branch Agr. Col. at Cedar City, lettered in football, basketball, and track; Eagle Scout; went to National Jamboree in Washington, D.C., 1943; served in Navy, World War II. He attended Pratt & Whitney special Aircraft Engine School at Hartford, Conn., and became engine instructor for government at Hillfield. Has been postal clerk in Delta and salesman, and served as Legion Commander.
