Supply-Firm Leader Dies
Funeral Is Saturday For T. S. McShane
Thomas S. McShane of 4821 Chicago Street, president and owner of the T. S. McShane Construction Equipment Company, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 77.
Mr. McShane, a native of Omaha, had been in the construction equipment business since 1920. He owned and operated American Machinery and Supply Company before he changed its name to the T.S. McShane Company.
In 1941, he purchased the building at 1113-17 Howard Street, the firm's headquarters.
Mr. McShane was a graduate of Creighton University's Arts College. His father, James McShane, owned a lumber company and other business interests in Omaha around the turn of the century.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, a son, the Rev. Thomas McShane, S.J., assistant professor of physics at Creighton University; sisters, Miss Elizabeth McShane of Omaha and Mother Catherine of San Diego, Cal. His first wife, Ann, died in 1949.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the John A. Gentleman Mortuary and at 9 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Cathedral. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the mortuary.
