Former Dale Resident Dies At Numidia
John Schaeffer, 62, a native and former resident of Locust Dale, died suddenly last night at his farm home in Numidia. He had not been ill and his death resulted from acute heart seizure.
Schaeffer was the son of the late George and Martha, nee Price, Schaeffer, of Locust Dale. He spent most of his life in that community, taking up residence in Numidia 18 years ago.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Downs, of Mt Carmel, and Mrs. Henry Hoffman, of Ashland, and two brothers, George Schaeffer, of Larksville, and Jess Schaeffer, local barber.
Private funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the Kull Funeral Home on North 9th St. Rev. C.E. Rudy, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, will officiate and interment will be in Huntersville cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday night. (*NOTE- I think he is buried in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle, with the rest of his family*)
