George Schaffer
George W. Schaffer (Schaeffer) of 415 East State Street, Larksville, a veteran of World War I, died Saturday morning at 8:02 in the Veterans Administration Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was a patient there since December 4, 1960.
Mr. Schaffer was born in Ashland, son of the late George and Martha (Price) Schaffer and had resided in Larksville the last 45 years. He was formerly employed as a maintenance man at the Loree and No. 5 Collieries of Hudson Coal Coal Company in Larksville. He retired in 1955.
He was a member of Larksville Post 655, American Legion; and the United Mine Workers.
Surviving are his widow, the former Helen Benoska, at home, and one son, George, of Kingston.
Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10 from the funeral home, Bull Run, Plymouth.
Friends may call 3 to 5 and 7 to 10.

Military rites were conducted for George W. Schaffer of 415 East State Street, Larksville, whose funeral was held yesterday morning from the funera home, Bull Run, Plymouth. Services were held at the funeral home.
Larksville American Legion Post 655 conducted the military services with Commander Joseph S. Mikluscak in charge. Luke Klem was chaplain and Stephen Kollar and John Glodek, color bearers. Color guards were Edward Hardiman and Edward Piekanski. The firing squad composed of Timothy Kelly, George Forgatch, James O’Dea and Job Harvey, was in charge of Clarence Miller. Buglers were Andrew Suppon and Joseph Guydosh.
Flower carriers and pallbearers, member of Larksville American Legion Post, were John Anstett, David Morris, Stephen Ulichney, John Mooney, George Pavlick and Edward Degoski
