SHELDON – Olive Raper, 74, Sheldon, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 1989, at the Iroquois Resident Home, Watseka.
She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Star City, Ind., to Chester and Lena King Purdy. She married James Raper Dec. 7, 1933, in Morocco, Ind. He preceded her in death on Apr. 10, 1972.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Goin of Morocco; one grandson, Patrick Raper of Kentland, Ind.; one granddaughter, Brenda Jones of Danforth; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Jones of Danforth; two brothers, Richard Purdy of Bradenton, Fla.; and Harold Purdy of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Mary McMillian of Donovan; and Freda Hines of Walton, Ind.; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Arthur; one daughter, Mary Webb; one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Raper was a member of the Donovan United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Scott McMurray officiating. Burial will be in the Buswell Cemetery, Kentland, Ind.
There will be no visitation.
The DeValk Funeral Home, Sheldon, is in charge of arrangements.
