Mrs. Lena G. Purdy
Mrs. Lena G. Purdy, 46, of 219 1-2 Littleton street, West Lafayette, died at 2:40 p. m. Saturday at the Home hospital of heart trouble, following an operation.
Mrs. Purdy was born in Galveston, and in 1908 married Chester E. Purdy. The couple had lived here seven weeks, coming from Morocco. Mrs. Purdy was a member of the Morocco U. B. church. Surviving are the husband, her mother, Mrs. Ollie E. King, Galveston; and six children: Richard, Morocco; Mrs. James Raper, Donovan, Ill.; Mrs. Walter Burham, Los Angeles; and Mary, Freda and Harold at home.
Friends may call at the Soller-Baker funeral home, where services will be held at 1 p. m. Monday, Rev. O. I. Uncapher officiating. Burial in Galveston cemetery.

DEATH OF LENA GLADYS PURDY
Lena Gladys Purdy, aged 46 years, 7 days, died at the Home Hospital in Lafayette, Saturday afternoon at 2:40, following an operation for appendicitis, performed Wednesday evening. Death was caused by heart trouble and complications.
She was the daughter Wm. A. King (deceased) and Ollie King, and was born in Galveston August 19, 1893, and was married to Chester E. Purdy, March 2, 1908. To tis union were born seven children, Richard of Morocco, Mrs. Olive Raper of Donovan, Illinois, Mrs. Rebecca Burhans of Los Angeles, California, Mary, Harold and Freda at home. A son, Orville, died in infancy. She also is survived by her mother, three grandchildren and one half-brother, Kenneth King, of Hopewell, Virginia. A brother, Walter R. King, preceded her in death.
The early years of her married life were spent in Pulaski County. From there they moved, nine years ago, to Morocco, where they lived until about seven weeks ago, when they moved to West Lafayette. She was a loyal member of the Morocco U. B. church, the Daughters of Union Veterans and Rebekah lodges. She was an affectionate wife and mother, devoted to her family and home.
Funeral services were held at the Zoller-Baker funeral home in Lafayette, Monday afternoon, conduced by Rev. I. O. Uncapher, pastor of the Morocco U. B. church. The Daughters of Union Veterans of Morocco and Lafayette gave their ritualistic service. Burial in the Galveston cemetery. Rev. L. F. Ulmer assisted in the services at the cemetery.
