PERU - Funeral services for Chester E. Purdy, 78, Peru R. R. 4, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Drake-Flowers Chapel with the Rev. Paul Steele officiating. Burial will be in the Galveston cemetery. The Masonic Lodge of Logansport will be in charge of graveside rites.

Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.

Mr. Purdy died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in Dukes hospital following several years' illness.

He was a retired meat cutter.

Born June 8, 1887, in Pine Village, Ind., he was the son of Jacob and Ida (Boyer) Purdy. He was married in 1908 to Lena King who died in 1939.

He was a member of the E. U. B. church and the I.O.O.F. lodge at Morocco, Ind., and the Masonic Lodge at Logansport.

Survivors are two sons, Richard, Indianapolis, and Harold of Fort Wayne; four daughters, Mrs. James Raper and Mrs. Floyd McMillan, Donovan, Ill., and Mrs. Ed Seider and Mrs. Virgil Bennett, Peru; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Parker, Alberquerque, N.M., 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
