Nellie May Lansley was born in Bighton Hampshire in 1889. She was the daughter of Henry Lansley and Fanny nee Burden. Nellie married James Harder in Winchester in 1908. Nellie had 4 children very close together. Unfortunately she became ill probably due to Post Natal Depression and was admitted to the County Assylum, Knowle, Near Fareham around 1914. All her children were under 5years old, the youngest being a few months old and the family were struggling financially. Nellie remained in the Assylum where she died in 1918 from Pulmonary Tuberculosis. She was buried on 7 February 1918 from her home at 22 Water Lane Winchester. The service was held at St John's Church Winchester.
