George was the 7th child of Henry Lansley and Fanny Lansley nee Burden. He was born in Itchen Stoke, Hampshire on 10 November 1893. In 1911 he worked as a Carter on a Farm in Sparsholt Hampshire. George joined the Hampshire Regiment as a private 15th September 1914. He served in France and India. He was wounded in 1915. His home address was 54 St Johns Street Winchester, home of his widowed mother. He married Evelyn May Belcher in Reading Berkshire in December 1922. His first child Gladys M Lansley was born in 1925 in Berkhampstead and she died in 1926. His 2nd child Gilbert George Lansley was born in Berkhampstead in 1927. He died on 15 December 1953 in Eton Berkshire aged 60 years. At the time of his death he lived at Adanac Stoke Park, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.
