Eugene P. "Gene" Berrens, age 92, of Chilton, died on Monday, October 14, 2013. Gene was born on October 2, 1921 to the late Edward & Lena (Scherer) Berrens. He married Deloris Zorn on October 9, 1948; they celebrated 55 wonderful years together. Gene worked at Chilton Aluminum, later known as Mirro / Foley. Gene loved baseball; in his younger years he was a bat boy, played baseball with friends, and looked forward to attending Milwaukee Braves Games. Later in life, Gene enjoyed watching and listening to Milwaukee Brewers games. Gene & Deloris spent over 15 summers at their trailer in Shawano, enjoying camping with their grandchildren and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride & joy. He loved spending time with his family at many get-togethers. Gene was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Augustine Parish, and devoted time to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. He is survived by his daughter: Joan (Dale) Walber; a son: Tom Berrens & his special friend, Sue Ellen Hoes; a son-in-law: Bob Harder; grandchildren: Kelly (Matt) Forster, Brittany & Brooke Berrens; great grandsons: Marcus & Bradley Forster; and a sister: Katie Forstner. He is further survived by other family members and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters: Nancy Harder and infant daughter, Jean; a sister: Gert; and brothers: Art, Edward (Pat), Bob, Vic, & Claude. Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Larry Abler O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Memorials given in the name of Eugene P.
