Mrs. Joseph Kapitz Sr., nee Martha Muchofsky, of 2510 Clark street, died Thursday evening. Mrs. Kapitz has failed rapidly since the death of her husband, former Alderman Kapitz, December 24.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home and at nine o'clock from the St. Paul's Catholic church, the Rev. Martin Jaeckels officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Kapitz was born in Poland in 1874 and when a child accompanied her parents to Wisconsin. The family settled in Newton. In 1894 she was married to Joseph Kapitz Sr., and they located in this city. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of the St. Paul's congregation.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Hauschulz and Mrs. Harold Schroeder of this city; five sons, Joseph Jr., and Walter of this city, Matt of Kewaunee, George V. and William of Sturgeon Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Christensen of Chicago, Mrs. Peter Ratyzack of Kewaunee; two brothers, Phillip of Kewaunee and Joseph of Milwaukee; and 12 grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home from Saturday noon. The rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:30.
