Obituary for Frank Cox
Frank William Cox, the son of Nathaniel and Emma Cox, was born in Greene county Iowa, January 29, 1887. The early years of his life were spent near Jefferson County Iowa. Here he met and married Geneva Chambers on December 4, 1908, Nine children were born. They also had one foster son. During the early years of their married life they lived in Iowa, and moved to Polk county in 1923, where they have since resided. Mrs. Cox passed away, Nov. 16, 1960. Mr. Cox passed away at the Golden Age Manor, at Amery September 27. He was 78 years old.

He is survived by nine children: Ethelyne, Mrs. Walter Lundsmann of Honey Creek Wisconsin, Velma, Mrs. Roy Anderson of Seattle Washington, Ruth, Mrs. Niles Smith, of Cederville Illinois, Helen, Mrs. Axel Johnson of Milltown, Rena, Mrs. Delmar Kampen of Baileyville Illinois, Cleone of Balsam Lake, Arthur of Ogilvie Minnesota, Darwin of Cederville Illinois, and Lyle of Coon Rapids Minnesota, One foster son Raymond Mosier of Sturdivant, and 38 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Kate Flack, of Savannah IL. and Mrs. Edward Blegen, of Webster Iowa, two brothers, Elmer Cox and Ellsworth Cox of Centuria.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Methodist Church, Centuria with the Rev. Elwin Brown, officiating. The casket bearers were Harry Nichols, Ralph Hughes, Stanley Tendrup, Harold Tendrup, Albert Raska, and Rolland Spangenberg, Interment was at Balsam Lake Cemetery, Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. All of the children except Mrs. Roy Anderson, were able to attend the services.
