Wiliiam H. Bassett

FULTON - William H. Bassett, 72, of the South Granby Rd., died Wednesday afternoon at Lee Memorial Hospital after being stricken at his home.

A native and life resident of the Town of Granby, Mr. Bassett was retired from the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.,
having been a lineman there and employed with firm 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II, the United States Army Signal Corps; and a member of the Little Utica United Methodist Church.

Surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Alden (Harriet) Palmer of Syracuse; Mrs. Stanley (Hazel) Austic of Fulton; Mrs. Richard (Nina) Tobin of Baldwinsville; Mrs. Victor (Mildred) Austic of Fulton RD 3; Mrs. Clarence (Marjorie) Gross of Clay; Mrs. Ovid (Doris) Wilcox of Martville; and four brothers, Clayton, Raymond, Millard and Andrew Bassett, and of Fulton RD 3.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, with the Rev. Thomas
E. Montgomery, pastor of the Little Utica Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Calling hours are tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 919 Main St., Phoenix.
