Mary Agnes Leonhard, age 91, of Chilton, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Atrium Post Acute Center in Chilton. She was born October 5, 1926 in Chilton, daughter of the late Joseph & Catherine (Diedrich) Juckem. She married Anthony G. “Tony” Leonhard on April 27, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.

Mary was known for her sweet smile, willingness to help others, caring and helpful heart, and her family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite part of the week was the many Sunday afternoon visits with her family. During those visits she would often be found in a card game, playing sheepshead, or shaking dice with the grandchildren. Even though she played with family and friends she still had a competitive side and loved to win. On those same family visits she alway managed to put a meal on the table out of nothing which the family loved and looked forward to.

Mary was a hard worker and took care of her family. She also helped out on the farm doing whatever needed to be done from milking to feeding cows. She cooked for events and weddings in the kitchen at Brant weekly for several years. Whenever someone needed a helping hand, Mary was going to be there. You could find Mary tending to her vegetable garden in her free time, baking, canning, tending to her flower gardens, watching gameshows, doing word search puzzles, or listening to polka music. Mary and Tony spent many hours putting puzzles together, went out dancing, and golfing after their retirement. Mary’s faith was strong and she was a member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she also was a member of the Christian Mother’s.

Mary will be missed by many, including her family, children: Geri (Bob) Schmitz of Brookfield, Barb (Paul) Brazee of Brillion, Joanne Leonhard of Chilton, Chuck (Connie) Leonhard of New Holstein, Mary (Russ) Boldt of Brillion, and Lori (Jim) Koller of Chilton; 11 grandchildren: John Schmitz, Mike Schmitz, Jen Mastey, Chris (Heidi) Brazee, Nate (Lauren) Leonhard, Brad Leonhard (fiancee, Kourtney Rieder), Matt Boldt, Amanda (Brian) Denor, Megan Boldt (special friend Andy Kiefer), Emily (Cuyler) Dessart and Tony Koller; great-grandchildren: Gracie Mastey, Mya Mastey, Oliver Massey, Norah Leonhard, Chase Denor; her siblings: Leonard (Carol) Juckem, Betty (George) Jost, and Rita (Stan) Timmer; and other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Leonhard in 2014, a close family friend, Alan Reichwald, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 and on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM until the time of service.
