Lewis W. "Mitch" Mitchell, 74, of
Enfield , widower of the late Rose Mitchell, passed away Nov. 22, 2000, at the
Cayuga Medical
Center in Ithaca
NY . He was born Jan. 4, 1926.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He had 42 years of military service and retired from Pease Air Force Base in
Portsmouth NH . He resided in
Portsmouth , Eliot ME, and South Berwick ME for 25 years before moving to
New York recently. He was a giving person and was well-known and loved by all who knew him.

He leaves his wife Lillian; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Joyce Snodgrass of Methuen MA; daughters Joyce Oelschlager of Eliot ME and Barbara Webber of Somersworth NH; brothers Willie and Simon Mitchell of East Orange NJ and Melvin Mitchell of Dryden NY; sisters Anna Thomas and Elaine Feagin of Ithaca NY and Cecelia Dunham of Trumansberg NY; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
