Louisa Annette Coulter was the fifth of seven daughters of Samuel Coulter & Maria Bash. At age 16, she married on December 28, 1881, to Joseph Henry Specht, eldest of four sons of Noah Specht & Rebecca Vore. Louisa & Joseph had 12 children: Elsie Maria (died age 6 weeks), George Samuel, Noah Lee (died age 23 of infantile paralysis), Louis Jerome, Bertha Rebecca, Alva Eugene, Joseph William, Oliver Perry (died age 9 of measles & croup), Gertrude Rosetta, Beulah May, Carrie Viola, and Orville Damon.

The Specht plot along the north edge of Conrad Cemetery holds Louisa & Joseph; their three children: Elsie, Oliver, and young Noah; Joseph's parents and also his bachelor brother, Benjamin Specht (1862-1894).
