Born December 30, 1897 at Falls Mills, Va,, she was the daughter of G. Syd Caldwell and Fannie Compton Caldwell Givens. She had been a resident of Bluefield for 77 years. She was a member of the Brushfork Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Giles S. Perdue; a daughter, Ruth Gibberson; two sisters, Mabel Compton and Ada S. Nuff; three brothers, Charles Caldwell, Robert Givens and Ballard Givens.
Survivors: daughters, Ruby Stinson and Thelma Huffman, Mrs. James (Frances) Bond, and Mrs. Abe (Shirley) George all of Bluefield; sons, Howard (Jack) Perdue of Princeton, and Lowell (Tom) Perdue of bluefield; sisters: Marie Burkett Davidson of Bluefield-Princeton Road, and Edna Walburton of Baltimore, Md.; and 17 grandchldren, 23 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Bobby Hogan and the Rev. Jim Pinkerton officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.V.
