Born 15 Nov 1907, at McGraws, he was a son of the late Pate and Gertie McGraw Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, a memter of Veterans of foreign Wars, and United Mine Workers. He was a member of the Bellmeade-Sabine Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ula E. Brooks, and a brother, Burton Brooks.
Survivors include eight brothers, Raymond; Paul; and Ralph Brooks, all of Beckley; Homer Brooks of Crab Orchard; Sheborn (Doc) Brooks of McGraws; William (Bill) Brooks of Mullens; Thomas Eugene Brooks of Baltimore, Md.; and Holroyd Brooks of Atlanta, Ga.; and a foster brother, Ira Brooks of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Services will be Friday at 1: p.m. at the Evans Memorial Chapel in Oceana with the Rev. Ancel Powers officiating. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
