Thomas C. Mays, 74, of Myerstown Route Three, died Tuesday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospital. His wife, the former Alice Gettle, preceded him in death ten years ago. The son of the late John Henry and Amanda Yiengst Mase, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Myerstown. Survivors are four daughters, and eight sons as follows: Rebecca, wife of Harry Sanders, Schaefferstown; Margaret, wife of Ardell Smith, Myerstown; Dora, wife of Elmer Long, Myerstown Route Three; and, Edith, wife of Ralph Gassert, Richland Route One; Allen, Myerstown Route One; Thomas J. and Jacob, Myerstown Route Three; Harry and Charles, both of Lebanon; John, Mt. Aetna; Aaron, Denver Route Two; and Raymond, of Milford. There also survive 42 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Reist and May Mase, three brothers, Aaron, Alfred and Ulysses Mase. Another daughter, Anna died in infancy, and a son, Andrew is still listed missing in the Korean War. [Lebanon Daily News, June 17, 1959]
