Funeral services for Mark Mahoney,
74, Louisville, a native of the Norwood
area, were held Feb. 23, 1972 at the St.
Lawrence Church, Louisville. Spring
burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Mahoney died Feb. 20,1972 at the
House of the Good Samaritan Hospital,
Watertown, where he had been taken
Thursday morning after he had fallen
the length of the attic stairs in the former
Hall-Phelps house, 40 South Main,
Norwood. He had purchased the house
last year and was completely
remodeling the structure into four
apartments, one of which he and Mrs.
Mahoney planned to occupy.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary
R. Mahoney, three brothers, Daniel
Mahoney, Utica, James Mahoney,
Knapps Station and John Mahoney,
Potsdam, and three sisters, Mrs. James
(Kathleen) Regan, Route 1, Norwood,
and Mrs. Mary Cunningham, DeKalb
Junction and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mahoney was born in Norfolk
April 12,1897, the son of John and Belle
Nettles Mahoney. He operated a farm on
the Regan Road for some years and was
employed in the Alcoa machine shop
during World War II.

He then entered the building contracting
business. He was married to
Mary Regan of Norwood on Sept. 8,1923
and the couple had resided in this area
until a few years ago when they moved
to Louisville.
