Loos, Mathias (April 17, 1879-May 16, 1943 –husband of Rosa Strauss [married Oct. 26, 1909 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Mathias Loos [1853-1923] and Theresa Moerchen –born Town of Schleswig –after his marriage in 1909, Mathias and Rosa moved to Aniwa, Shawano County and farmed there until 1926 –in 1926 Mathias and Rosa moved to the City of Sheboygan where Mathias worked at the Phoenix Chair company until his death in 1943 –although Mathias and Rosa had no children of their own, they did raise 3 foster children –died Sheboygan County –died from "stroke –acute dilation of heart –sudden death –sudden death after climbing stairs in his home") –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 16, Lot 28 –stone] [no county marriage record –marriage recorded in St. Gregory Church books] [death record Sheboygan 48-586]

Mathias Loos, 64, better known to his friends as Uncle Matt, ???Alabama Avenue, passed away Sunday evening at his home. He was born in Town Schleswig, Manitowoc County, on April 7, 1879, and attended county and parochial schools in St. Nazianz. On Oct 26, 1909, he was married to Miss Rosa Strauss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Strauss, St. Nazianz the Rev Fin??? Of St. Gregory's church performing the ceremony.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Loos moved on a farm at Maniwa, Wis., where they remained for 18 years, coming to Sheboygan in 1927. For ? years he was employed by the Wisconsin Public Service Co. and until the time of his death at the Phoenix Chair company. He was a member of the St. Peter Church, Holy Name society.
Survivors are his wife, four sister and two brothers; Mrs. Josephine McCarthy, Sheboygan, Mrs. John Mertz, Chilton, Mrs. Regina Baumgartner and Mrs. Ida Loessel, both of St. Nazianz, Frank Loos, Aniwa, and Herman Loos, Valders. There are also 39 nieces and nephews
