Marshfield News Herald, Monday, June 26, 1939

Loyal - Conrad Loos, 58, a resident of this community for many years, died of a heart attack at 10 a.m. Sunday, shortly after his return from morning church services. He apparently been in good health prior to the attack.

Mr. Loos is survived by his wife, eight sons and two daughters.

Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Father Schmitz united in marriage, Mr. Conrad Loos, the son of Mr. Math. Loos from Town Schleswig, and Miss Lizzie Schnell, the daughter of Mrs. Anna Schnell in Steinthal. Wedding attendants were Fred Loos, Henry Schnell, Dora Loos and Mary Schnell. A big wedding celebration followed at Mueller's Hall, which more than 100 people attended. The young couple will live on the second story of the house of Mr. W. Backhaus. "Good Luck on the union."


Conrad was born in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County. He was married to Elizabeth Schnell on September 13, 1904 at the Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Kiel. They lived in Kiel and Conrad worked at the Kiel Wooden Ware for a little while. They moved to Greenwood, Wisconsin where they bought a farm, later moving to Loyal on a farm. Winters Conrad went north to logging camps to make extra money while Elizabeth took care of the family and farm. After Conrad's death Roy took over the farm.
