VIRGIL W. YARNELL

OBIT: Erie: Virgil W. Yarnell, 86 of Rt 1, Erie, died at 4:00 a.m. today, Dec. 20, 1995, at Arkhaven Nursing Home at Erie, Kansas.

He was born December 27, 1908, at Fayetteville, Ark., to Perry & Lillie (Smith) Yarnell. At the age of 4, he came to the Erie Area with his family ina covered wagon. He grew up and attended schools in Erie.

Mr. Yarnell farmed most of his life. However, he also was employed by the former Heaton Mfg., which later became Prest Lumber Co. for 24 years.

He was a member of the Church of God in Parsons and attended the Temple Baptist Church in Erie His hobbies were fishing and hunting.

He married Thelma Crumrine, March 8, 1933, at Erie. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three brothers, Howard and Leon both of Erie, and Eugene of Butler, MO.,and four sisters, Glenda Reeves of Pittsburg, Susie McDermed and Lucy Tredway, both of Erie, and Nona Sanders of Parsons. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Temple Baptist Church in Erie with the Rev. Bill Bingham officiating. Burial will be in the East Hill Cemetery, Erie, Kansas.
