HEATH SPRINGS -- Mrs. Martha Vera Couch Barrett, 82, of 168 Fairhill St. died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Carter officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Barrett was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Heath Springs chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was the widow of Ernest Wilson Barrett.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Wilson Barrett of Virginia Beach, Va, and Wayne Barrett of Lancaster; three daughters, Dorothy Cox and Mary Miller, both of Lancaster, and Jean Bair of Heath Springs; seven brothers, Bobby Couch of Emlenton, Penn., Gene Couch of Franklin, NC, Wilbur Couch of Lancaster, William Couch, David Couch and James Couch, all of Heath Springs, and Coleman Couch of Chester; four sisters, Annie Hinson of Lancaster, Marie Phillips of Kershaw, Della Adams of Rock Hill and Betty Cauthen of Heath Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.
