Funeral services for Robert Simon Jared, 67, were held Sunday afternoon at Boma Baptist Church with burial at Smellage cemetery.
Mr Jared died Friday night at his home in Boma after a long illness. A native of Putnam County, he was the son of Bill and Mary Evans Jared of Cookeville.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs Cordelia Whitehead Jared; 5 sons, Bethel and Johnny, Baxter; Solon and Sam, Silver Point; Julius, Boma; 3 sisters, Mrs Ralph Wirt, Cookeville; Mrs Ida Robinson, Baxter; Mrs L B Thompson, Ada, Okla; 3 brothers, Willie, Dayton, Oh; Rev Tom, Sulphur, Okla; Julius, Stonewall, Okla; 7 grandchildren.
