He was born July 31, 1925, in Putnam County. He was the son of the late Robert Simon and Dealie Whitehead Jared.
He was a member of Boma Church of God and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
His family includes his wife, Lorene Maxwell Jared of Silver Point; two sons, Gerald Jared of Summerdale, AL, and Phil Jared of Union City, GA; one brother, Julius Jared of Baxter; two grandsons, Jerry and Stephen Jared; two granddaughters, Leah and Shawna Jared.
