BAXTER: Funeral services for Johnnie William Jared, 73, of Route 4, Baxter, will be held Monday, November 7, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with Brother Clyde Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma community.
Mr. Jared was dead on arrival at Carthage General Hospital on Friday, November 4, 1988.
He was born October 25, 1915, in Putnam County. He was the son of the late Robert Simon and Cordelia Whitehead Jared.
He was retired from the transmission line at General Motors Co. in Detroit, MI. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Cookeville VFW Post 6296.
His family includes his wife, Olive Jernigan Jared of Baxter; one daughter, Marcella Lemanski of Bay Saint Louis, MS; two brothers, Julius Jared of Baxter and Sam Jared of Silver Point; two brothers, Julius Jared of Baxter and San Jared of Silver Point; two granddaughters, Sherry Gehring and Sandy Moses; and two greatgrandsons, Benjamin and Jared Gehring.
