Cela was born in the Town of Schleswig in Manitowoc County and passed away at Willowdale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein. She was the daughter of Jacob and Clara (Strassman) Spettel. She attended school in the Town of Schleswig.

On December 11, 1917, she married Ferdinand P. Schneider in the Town of Meeme. Her husband preceded her in death on May 19, 1956.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel.

Survivors include one son, Ronald (Jeanne) of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elsie Voigt of New Holstein, Mrs. Verna (Roland) Beckmann, Clara Spettel and Mrs. LenDoris (William) Buchholz, all of Kiel; also by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Elmer.

Funeral services were held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral home in Kiel.
