She was born January 26, 1894, in Oakvale, W.V. a daughter of Ulysses S. Grant and Priscilla Reed Allen.
She was a member of the St. Mark Untied Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrance Green Owens in October 1943.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. May Bennett and eight brothers, Vivian R. Allen, George Allen, Thomas Allen, Samuel Allen, Forrest Allen, Frank Allen, Edwin Allen and Arthur Allen.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Allen Owens of West Palm Beach, Fl and Ted R. Owens of Waynesboro; five daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Opal) Rosen, Mrs. John (Jean) Moses, Mrs. Gordon (Annette) Short, all of Waynesboro, Mrs. Forrest (Betty) Jones of Greenwood and Mrs. Ronald (Eva) Wiley of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Donald Allen of Bramwell, W.V.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Pearl) Goins of Bramwell, W.V., Mrs. C.C. (Ethel Jane) Hatter of Duhring, W.V. and Mrs. Forrest (Bea) Dunn of Waynesboro, Va.; 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at the McDow Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight. The body will be taken Thursday morning to the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, W.V. where the family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John W. Mosos.
Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family asks that memorial donations be given to the Blue Ridge Christian Home in Stuarts Draft, 24477.
