Ethel Jane Allen Hatter, 81, of Duhring , died Monday January 26, 1987 in Waynesboro, Va.
Born March 4, 1905 in Bramwell, she was a daughter of the late Ulysses Grant and Priscella Reed Allen.
She was a member of the Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She lived in Duhring for 40 years and was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. ‘Lum' Hatter in 1981; one son, William Franklin Hatter; one daughter, Annette Lee; three sisters and six brothers.
Survivors; daughters, Elizabeth Moses of Stuarts Draft, Va. Margie Laing of Harrisburg, Pa., Lillian ‘Red' Rogers of Eden, N.C., Ellen Rae Martin and Doris Jane Davis of Waynesboro, Va. , Jacquelyn Conley of Montcalm; sons, Jack W. Hatter of Princeton, Stanley Hatter of Troy, N.Y. , Herbert Hatter of Clifton Park, N.Y., George Hatter of Port Royal, Pa.; brother, Don Allen of Bramwell; sister, Bea Dunn of Waynesboro, Va.; 28 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Glen Strickland officiating with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
