Marshall Richmond Claimed by Death
Well-Known Resident of Section Dies at Age of 82

Marshall A. Richmond, 82, years old, a descendant of the settlers of Richmond district section of Raleigh county, near here, died at his home on the Richmond farm last night at 11:45 o'clock after a year's illness.

Mr. Richmond, a widely known resident of this section, was born at the Richmond farm, November 22, 1860, and spent his entire life there.

Funeral services will be held at the home there Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. H. P. Hackney, pastor of the Central Baptist church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows cemetery nearby.

Surviviors include his wife, Mrs. Lura Richmond; two sons, Basil Richmond, at home, and H. L. Richmond, of Hinton; two daughters, Mrs. George Tyree, of Hinton, and Mrs. Cassie Smith, of Medina, Ohio; one brother, John Richmond of the Richmond farm section, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Irvin, and Mrs. E. T. Hinton, both of Hinton. Three grandchildren also survive.
