Jas. N. Richmond Dies After Short Illness
James N. Richmond, one of the well known farmers who resided in Raleigh county, some two miles from Hinton, died last night at eleven o'clock, after an illness of only a couple of days.
He suffered an attack of appendicitis on Tuesday and died Wednesday night. He had been in decling health for the past several months, tho was going about and was in Hinton a few days ago.
The remains will be buried at the home burying ground on Friday morning at eleven o'clock.
He leaves a wife and several children, among them being Taylor Richmond of Hinton, and Walter and Kenna at the home.
Three brothers, Marsh, John and Sam, who resides in Raleigh, some two miles below Hinton and three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Palmer of Long Bottom, Mrs. Alice Ervin Fox and Mrs. Thurmond Hinton of this city, also survive in addition to many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Richmond was about 70 years of age and was known to many people of this city. He was an honest and upright citizen and will be sadly missed by his relatives and acquaintances. He was born and spent all of his life in Raleigh county, being a son of Squire Wm. Richmond, who was prominently known and who died many years ago, at his home in Raleigh just west of Hinton.
