Funeral services were held at 11 am Tuesday, from the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City for Charles W. Stahlman, Sr., 77, of Oil City, who died at 1 am Saturday, April 24 (1971), in Oil City Hospital. Born at Fisher, August 2, 1893, he was a son of Charles Clinton and Mary Ella Copenhaver Stahlman. He was married to the former Laura Porter, who died in 1926. Mr. Stahlman had worked oil fields in this area at one time and had also been employed at one time in the Blacksmith's department of Oilwell Division, U.S. Steel Corporation. Surviving are four sons, Richard W. of North Madison, Ohio, Dean of Middlesex, NY, Roy of Gorman, NY, and Charles W. Jr. of Oil City; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; Three brothers, Roy, Glade and Donald Stahlman of Oil City, and one sister, Mrs. Orpha Hipwell of Sugarcreek. The Rev. Harold D. Kelly of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City officiated at the funeral services and burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.
