Roy D. Stahlman, 83, of 401 Kerr Street, Titusville, a former resident of 26 Hone Avenue, Oil City, died at 2:38 a.m. today on Oil City Area Health Center. He was born in Marienville, on December 12, 1901, the son of Charles C. and Mary Ellen Copenhaver Stahlman. Mr. Stahlman worked for Pennsylvania Railroad for two years and then worked as a log cutter for ten years. He started work at Oilwell Division of U.S. Steel Corporation on May 25, 1937, and at the time of his retirement on February 1, 1967, he was a hammerman in the forge department. Mr. Stahlman was married to the former Alice Reid, who died on July 5. 1963. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Charles Stahlman, of Titusville, with whom he made his home, and Harry I. Geer, with whom he formerly lived. His parents, five brothers and six sisters are deceased. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday in Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Gail E. McQueen, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, Oil City, officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City.
