Funeral Rites Are Held For Fred Morgan

Sudden Death is Caused by Stroke at His Home in Kimball, Nebr.

Funeral services for Fred Reynard Morgan, former resident of Grand Island, who died at his home in Kimball, about midnight Friday, were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Kelso, 219 East Second street, with Bishop Beecher, of Hastings, and the Masonic order in charge of the service. Burial was made in the family lot in the Grand Island cemetery.

Death came suddenly Friday night to Mr. Morgan, and was attributed to apoplexy. He had attended to his work at the drug store which he had operated in Kimball for the past 30 years, and had just arrived home Friday night, when he was stricken.

The body, accompanied by relatives, arrived in the city at 2:10 o'clock this morning.

Fred Reynard Morgan was born in Grand Island and grew to manhood in this community. He was the seventh son of MR. and Mrs. Daniel Morgan and was one of a family of 13 children. The family resided at 216 East First street.

He was married in 1907, to Miss Margaret Wilkinson, of Pine Bluff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkinson, of Alda. He and his wife left Grand Island about 30 years ago and located in Kimball, Neb., where he conducted a drug store until his death.

He was a member of the Masonic order for a long period of time, and advanced to the Knight Templar and Shrine order. He served Kimball as its mayor for several years, and was prominent in the public life throughout his residence there.

Surviving are his wife, four brothers, H. H. Morgan, of Clarion, Ia., R. M. Morgan, of Phoenix, N. Y.; J. D. Morgan, of Des Moines, Ia., and A. B. Morgan, of Ingelwood, Cal., and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Beard, of Kimball, Neb. One brother, Walter, preceded him in death 17 months ago, and a brother, George, passed away just 15 months ago.

Those from out of the city who attended the funeral included Mr. Horace Morgan and two daughters, Mrs. Louis Porter and Mrs. Lloyd Stron, of Clarion, Ia.; J. D. Morgan of Des Moines, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hunter, of Denver, and Mrs. John Wilkinson, of Pine Bluffs, Wyo. Arthur and Ross Morgan, brothers, were unable to attended the funeral service.
